Date of project: Aug 2015
Key objectives: Upgrade of ships equipment to meet latest requirements within 24 hours
Project location: UK
Key barriers/issues: Meeting imminent deadline
Ship passed the survey and was successfully issued with IOPP certificate
AtZ was able to deliver, design, install and commission a new oily monitoring system in-situ (no advance engineering design)
Seatruck Ferries contacted AtZ Marine on a Sunday morning to carry out a retrofit of OWS monitor on their vessel Clipper Ranger. There was no time for renewing the OWS, but the monitoring system had to be made functional and compliant in less than 24 hours as their IOPPC survey was imminent. As AtZ Marine maintains a stock of MEPC.107(49) compliant OMD-2005 measuring units we were able to attend the ship immediately to successfully install, commission and certify the OWS equipment before the surveyor boarded the vessel.
