The Marine Shipping industry is truly global – across borders, cultures, languages and continents every single day and hour of the year. The movement of goods – including everything from electronics to fuels, foodstuffs to people could not happen without the global shipping industry.
Shipping is the life blood of the global economy. Without shipping, intercontinental trade, the bulk transport of raw materials, and the import/export of affordable food and manufactured goods would simply not be possible.

Ships are sophisticated high value assets with a significant amount of technology. Some of the larger and more hi-tech vessels can cost in excess of over US $1 Billion to build.

Within the shipping market, vessels are designed with transportation of standardised shipping containers in mind.

Containers cater for a wide range of compact, fragile or items requiring refrigeration or special care during transit. Ships designed specifically for containers need to cater for fast loading and unloading by dockside cranes, they are double bottomed to allow for tank space underneath the large open interior. Special consideration is given to the design of the hull structure and propulsion to maximise container storage while retaining required structural rigidity of the vessel.

FAQ’S

We are on a very tight turnaround schedule, and have limited time to complete any works – how can you help?

AtZ are used to dealing with tight timeframes and as such can plan to make the most of the time available. If you can share with us your requirements, we can look at your schedule together and advise where and when work could be completed in service.

Are the parts you supply from the original maker?

This depends on your request – we can provide OEM manufactured spares or compatible aftermarket products with equivalent specifications. Please get in touch to let us know what you are looking for.

We are unsure as to whether we will have time to complete an oily water monitor calibration during our port call – what are the alternatives?

AtZ hold a large stock of Deckma Hamburg monitoring cells which are maintained in a calibrated state. We offer a service exchange programme where we can deliver the calibrated cell and certificate to your vessel for you to switch over. We will refund the exchange unit deposit on receipt of your returned measuring cell.
